Wembley to host three NFL games in 2015
It has been confirmed that Wembley Stadium connected by EE will host another three NFL games in 2015 following a successful start to the 2014 International Series.
On Sunday fans were treated to high drama as the Detroit Lions stormed back from a 21 point half-time deficit to defeat Atlanta Falcons 22-21 with the last kick of the game.
Supporters can now look forward to more top class American Football action, not only in the remaining 2014 fixture on 9 November, but also in 2015 when the sport returns to the English national stadium.
NFL UK Managing Director Allistair Kirkwood admitted he was looking forward to next year already as he expects the UK’s love affair with the sport to continue.
"We are going to do three games next year,” he said.
"There are some logistic reasons around the Rugby World Cup that means we won't be going to four or five."
It is a decision which is also likely to be met with approval by the NFL players and coaches.
Following his team’s 24-7 victory over Oakland Raiders in September, Miami Dolphins Head Coach Joe Philbin was full of praise for both Wembley Stadium and its fans.
“I’d never been to London before but it is a world class city and this is a world class stadium,” he said.
“Every single individual that we met from the minute we landed have been nothing but helpful. The players loved the atmosphere. It was a tremendous experience.”
This year’s NFL International Series games at Wembley conclude on 9 November when Jacksonville Jaguars host the Dallas Cowboys.
There are also a very limited number of hospitality packages available for the one remaining game here this year, on Sunday 9 November, between Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars.
