Rotherham celebrate promotion back to the Championship

There seem to be certain people you can always back in certain situations and, when it comes to penalty shoot-outs, it appears Rotherham’s Adam Collin is one of those people.

The Millers’ keeper stopped two penalties in a dramatic shoot-out at Wembley to send his side back to the Championship and then admitted to WembleyStadium.com after that’s just par for the course with him.

“I’ve actually got a good record at penalties,” admitted Collin.

“I’ve been involved in seven shoot outs, won all seven and saved two in each so I backed myself when I was up there.”

Despite his stunning record in penalty shoot outs the stopper refused to take all the plaudits for Rotherham’s victory.

The Millers trailed 2-0 at the break and Collin says that credit must go to his team-mates for taking the game all the way.

“The lads were outstanding today and Revs has got us back in the game with two great goals,” said the former Carlisle goalkeeper.

“We were dead and buried at half time but it’s summed our season up really, we’ve gone all the way in every game and I think we come out deserved winners.”

Rotherham have now achieved back-to-back promotions but Collin believes that could just be the start for this Millers team.

“There’s a progressive nature to this club, we want to keep going and the Chairman backs us all the way. “

“The Chairman backs the manager, the manager backs the players and the fans believe.”
