The 96 victims of the Hillsborough disaster will be remembered at this weekend’s FA Cup semi-finals through a series of tributes at Wembley Stadium.

Ninety-six seats have been set aside within the stadium and each will have a Liverpool scarf laid upon it in memory of those who tragically lost their lives at The Reds’ FA Cup clash with Nottingham Forest in 1989.

All four teams involved in this weekend’s semi-finals as well as the match officials will take to the field wearing black armbands.

Captains will lay wreaths in their technical areas before a minute’s silence is observed during which the names of the 96 victims will be visible on the level 2 LED ribbon around the stadium.

A number of the families of the 96 will also be in attendance for the semi-final between Arsenal and Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

The two games will then kick-off at seven minutes past the hour following a minute’s silence at six minute’s past to mark the tragedy.

The match at which the disaster took place, The FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest on 15 April 1989, was ended six minutes after kick-off, at 3:06pm.
