UEFA EURO 2020 - Expression of Interest

The FA has confirmed to UEFA its interest in hosting either a UEFA EURO 2020 ‘Standard’ or ‘Finals’ package at Wembley Stadium.

For the first time in the UEFA European Championship’s history, European football’s governing body has decided the tournament will be played in multiple cities across the continent.  In all, EURO 2020 matches will be split into 13 different packages: 12 ‘standard’ packages including three group games and one knockout round match (round of 16 or quarter-final) and one ‘Finals’ package to host both the Semi-Finals and the Final.

The FA has confirmed to UEFA its interest in hosting either a ‘Standard’ or ‘Finals’ package at Wembley Stadium.

FA General Secretary Alex Horne said: “UEFA’s ‘EURO for Europe’ in 2020 promises to be a fitting way to recognise 60 years of the UEFA European Championship. We would be delighted for London and Wembley Stadium to be chosen to host either of the two packages available and we look forward to working with UEFA on the forthcoming selection process.”

“It would be great to see England playing in front of their home fans here in London as part of a EURO Finals tournament but many countries have also put themselves forward as hosts and we expect this to be a very competitive bidding process.”
