Wembley Celebrates 90 Inspiring Years
Wembley Stadium will be marking its 90th anniversary this month (Sunday 28th April) with a series of activities aimed at celebrating the inspiring moments that have made the stadium a much loved icon in England and around the world.
As part of the celebrations, Wembley will honour The FA Cup Final; the most famous domestic cup competition in the world with an epic event on 27th April. Kicking off from The Oval, home of the first ever FA Cup Final, the Wembley Pass will see players, musicians, football freestylers and fans come together to deliver this year’s match ball to the iconic Wembley Stadium.
The official Nike match ball will travel on a glass-sided truck through the streets of London via various London landmarks including; the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace as it makes its way from the venue of that historic 1872 final between Wanderers and Royal Engineers to the legendary location for modern day finals.
Along the road to Wembley, the match ball will be kept moving with the help of the Red Bull Street Style champions. At key points along the route, including the Kennington football pitches, London Eye, Wembley Central and Wembley Way, the truck will stop allowing for fans to enjoy the experience.
There will be the opportunity for fans to have their photo taken with The FA Cup, match ball, football freestylers, legends and more. Coaches from the unique FA Tesco Skills programme will be holding football sessions for sixty 5-11 year olds, at the Kennington Park football pitches.
Fans could also win a series of amazing prizes including Wembley hospitality for ten guests at an England International, five pairs of match tickets to an England International or a pair of tickets to The FA Cup with Budweiser 2013 Final.
