Stacey Solomon At FA Cup Final
Solomon, who won ITV’s I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here in December 2010, will perform a pre-match set on the Wembley pitch before singing the National Anthem.
“I am so excited at the thought of performing at The FA Cup Final in front of millions of people around the world. Wow, what an amazing opportunity,” commented the Essex vocalist.
“This time last year I’d never imagined it possible. I hope I do a good job for all the fans there on the day.
“It’s such an honour to be asked to sing at the FA Cup Final this year and my dad and boyfriend are well chuffed.
“The thought of singing in front of so many thousands of fans is so scary though, probably the scariest thing I’ve done yet. Even some of the tasks in the jungle weren’t this scary.
“I’m so excited though and I even get to watch the match afterwards.”
The former X Factor star will be joined by three-piece vocal group, Tenors Unlimited, who will perform the traditional FA Cup Final hymn, Abide with Me.
Tenors Unlimited have a strong association with football having performed at Sir Bobby Robson’s memorial in Durham Cathedral in September 2009.
Scott, Paul and Jem from Tenors Unlimited said: “We’re delighted and honoured to be invited to sing at this year’s FA Cup Final. We know it’s a massive game and shown on TV around the world so we can’t wait to make our Wembley Stadium debut on 14 May.”
