England have fought off tough competition from South Africa and Italy to win the right to stage the 2015 Rugby World Cup, with Wembley Stadium named as a host venue.

It will be the second time England have hosted the competition, the last time being in 1991.

The final of the competition will be staged at Twickenham and the RFU have also reached agreement to use eight of the country's football grounds including Wembley Stadium, Old Trafford, Anfield and the Emirates Stadium.

It was also announced that Japan will be hosts for the event in 2019.

Rugby union comes to Wembley on 12 September when the Saracens play Northampton Saints.
